Anonymous Surfing: a Necessity?

December 29, 2009

Surfing the Internet today may be compared to walking on a minefield. You can walk all day on the field and feel lucky for not stepping on a mine but, inevitably, if you stroll through that field long enough, you are bound to step on one. The Internet today is filled with virii, Trojans, and spyware. Every website you visit, every click on a link, is a potential threat. Therefore, users protect themselves by loading their computers with firewalls and antivirus programs to combat malicious content. Firewalls filter all the traffic coming into your computer. Antivirus programs then check the data that goes through the filter and scans them again. But is this enough? What about the information that you send out to the Internet? What tool filters that information?

Identity theft is one of the biggest problems that are a by-product of the popularity of the Internet today. Every sensitive piece of information about an individual can be collected through the Internet by anyone who looks hard enough. From credit card information to Social Security Numbers, these data can fall into the wrong hands and cause unrestrained damage to an individual. Monetary loss is just the beginning. Identity theft can damage the credit score rating of a person and have an impact on every aspect of a person’s life. From taking out loans, applying for a job, or even renting an apartment, damage to your credit score affects the outcomes of these. Victims of identity theft then discover that a damaged credit score rating can take years to fix. So how can you avoid the same fate? Anonymous surfing may be the answer.

Hence, it is important to protect your personal information; and nothing does the job better than Anonymous surfing. Anonymous surfing works by indirectly connecting individuals to their desired web pages. Instead of you visiting a website directly, broadcasting your information out into the Internet, you first connect to an intermediary, usually a proxy server, which then connects you to your desired websites. Web proxies, however are limited. The information you transmit to the web proxy is not data encrypted and, if the security of the proxy server is compromised, your information is also compromised.

A much more reliable method for Anonymous surfing would be downloading software that connects you to a VPN or Virtual Private Network. One example would be Yousab found on www.vpnmessenger.com. It acts just like any other Instant Messenger like Yahoo Messenger and MSN, but with a twist. In addition to the VoIP capability and the sending of messages and files to other users, Yousab also operates silently in the background, allowing for anonymity when surfing the Internet.

As a bonus to protecting your information, surfing anonymously also has a nice side effect of bypassing website restrictions. If, for example, a company blocks the website Facebook from being accessed in their network, web proxies and VPNs may act as a Facebook unblock tool, allowing access to blocked sites. This is possible because it is not you who connects to the blocked site, but the web proxy or VPN.

The Anonymous Surfing Advantage

December 29, 2009

What is the difference between Anonymous surfing and normal surfing? Both methods accomplish the same thing — viewing the website you wish to view. In fact, it may seem that there is no difference at all. So is there a reason at all for Anonymous surfing? Though they may seem similar, there is a big difference between the two that are worlds apart. That difference is security. Surfing without the use of Anonymous surfing tools is like walking alone in a dark alley in the middle of the night with a huge transparent bag brimming with gold coins. In short, you are asking for trouble.

The Internet is a place filled with malicious content. From pop-ups that annoyingly pop up during your Internet surfing activities to viruses that can destroy your computer data in seconds, there is a tool that can be utilized to protect you from them. There are pop-up blockers and antivirus programs aplenty, helpful tools in your quest through the dark dungeons of the Internet. There is, however, something darker, more insidious than virii that litter the Internet. It is spyware. These foul things are hidden and always observant. Every click of a mouse and every push of a button are meticulously logged for reference. Every sensitive piece of personal information is not safe from these things. From credit card numbers to social security numbers, they will be stolen from you inevitably. Thankfully, there is a tool that effectively combats spyware and any other malicious programs that may attempt to steal information from you. It is a tool that allows for Anonymous surfing, preventing unauthorized access to your personal information.

How does it work, you ask? One way is through proxy websites. Simply visit a web proxy website and browse the Internet through that web proxy. You do this by entering the URL of your desired website on the address bar provided by the web proxy and not your browser’s address bar. Using this method, you are only connected to the web proxy, and it is the web proxy that communicates with the websites you wish to visit. The visited site only detects and identifies the web proxy while your information remains unknown. This method is contrary to simply going to the desired website. Entering the URL of your desired website directly on your web browser would mean that your own computer is communicating with the visited site. Doing so leaves you exposed and your personal information made available to the visited website. Making use of proxy websites has its limitations though as a URL entered on a proxy website is not encrypted.

Another more secure method is by downloading a program that automatically connects you to a VPN or Virtual Private Network. Data is encrypted and the program automatically allows surfing in anonymity. Yousab on www.vpnmessenger.com is one such program. In addition to protecting your personal information, it also operates similar to that of MSN and Yahoo Messenger wherein you can send files and messages to other Yousab users. It also has VoIP capabilities not unlike the services provided by Skype. As a side effect of connecting to a VPN, it can also bypass website restrictions. Like if Facebook was restricted in a company network, this Facebook unblock tool would be able to access the website regardless.

The Benefits of Anonymous Surfing

December 29, 2009

The Internet, it seems, has become a dangerous place for everyone. Those who do not know any better and surf the Internet unprotected may find themselves inevitable victims of identity theft. Majority of websites today install spyware on unsuspecting users to collect their information. The data they collect can range from simple browsing habits to sensitive personal information. Everyday, millions of users go through different websites, send emails, and input their personal information unmindful that someone may be silently collecting their data for future use. Spywares are present in about every computer, making it almost impossible to click anything without somebody else knowing about it. Though some companies may claim that the information that they are collecting from people will be kept confidential and will only be used as a basis for their ads, there are those who have do it with an ill-intent and use the information to commit identity theft. Therefore, it would seem prudent, nowadays, for users to make use of Anonymous surfing to protect them from identity theft.

As is always the case for identity theft, when discovered, it is already too late. It may happen that those who take their Internet security for granted may be sipping coffee in the comfort of their homes while someone claiming to be them a hundred miles away are spending their hard-earned cash. Victims would first take notice and lament on the monetary loss, but the most harmful and protracted effect of identity theft would be the damage to your credit score. The quality of your credit score dictates a lot in your way of living. From taking out a loan, renting a flat, or even getting a job; your credit score rating has a say on all of these aspects of your life. Damage to your credit score due to identity theft, therefore, has far-reaching consequences than just money. And recovering from such a disaster may take years on end.

On the other hand, protecting yourself from identity theft may only take a few minutes. There are a lot of proxy websites and software downloads that would allow for Anonymous surfing, which keeps things that should be private… private. One such program is the Yousab VPN messenger software from the website www.vpnmessenger.com. It’s a handy little program that operates similar to MSN and Yahoo Messenger where you can send files and converse with your friends through Instant Messaging. It also has VoIP capabilities similar to Skype. But an interesting aspect of Yousab is it also allows users the capability of Anonymous surfing. It just runs silently in the background and does not interrupt with your Internet activities while protecting you from potential harm.

Anonymous surfing has other practical uses other than giving you privacy. Some companies, ISPs, and countries employ website restrictions within their domain. This means that if you are, for example, an employee working for such a company, you will not be able to access websites deemed by the company as unnecessary — websites like Facebook. In this case, the Yousab can also be used as a Facebook unblock tool since it is the VPN that makes the connection to these websites for you. You may think that the Yousab and similar anonymity programs are quite the useful tools. No, on the other hand, you may find that these tools are quite necessary.

The Facebook Unblock Tool for the Office

December 29, 2009

Are you sometimes overworked in the office and find yourself wanting to spend some leisure time on Facebook to recharge yourself but find it blocked? Does Facebook not work in your office when all you want to do is connect with your friends and family for a short while? There is a way around it. If you feel that you are entitled to the little niceties in life, like being able to say hello to your friends and family during work hours, then keep reading.

Most companies feel that these social networking websites are unnecessary during work and are therefore blocked. If you are an employee of such a company and attempt to connect to these blocked websites, you will find that you are unable to access these sites. On top of that, you are summarily warned by your superiors to focus on work and to avoid such actions in the future. At this point, you feel your fundamental right as a human being to socialize has been neglected. Instead of feeling employed, you instead find yourself feeling more and more like a prisoner.

There is, however, a solution. Making use of a Facebook unblock tool will allow you to connect to blocked websites by connecting through a proxy server. This method is called Anonymous surfing. Instead of connecting directly to the Facebook website, you first connect to a proxy. This proxy will then make the connections to other websites for you. As bonus side effect to connecting to the proxy, you’re Internet activities are also masked. This means that the company will never know that you have bypassed their restrictions — keeping you in the company and at the same time, happy.

So how will you be able to take advantage of Anonymous surfing? First, you have to find a program that works for you. A lot of programs can be found on the Internet both free and commercial. One such free program that you can download is the Yousab on www.vpnmessnger.com. It is similar to MSN and Yahoo Messenger in the sense that it can send files and IMs to other Yousab members. It also acts as a VoIP similar to Skype. However, this particular program also connects you to a VPN or Virtual Private Network that acts as a proxy to the Internet. Using this program, you are effectively Anonymous surfing. Just download and install the program, run it, then begin surfing. It’s as simple as that. It just runs silently in the background and does not interfere with your activities while bypassing website restrictions, and keeping your Internet activities private; as it should be.

Anonymous surfing also has the additional benefit of keeping your sensitive and personal information away from prying eyes. Working for a company that restricts Internet activity also has the habit of filtering their employees’ Internet activities. Personal emails sent to friends and family with a message that they may deem inappropriate may be flagged and sent to the IT department. Protect yourself. Computer privacy is also a right that you are entitled to.

What Anonymous Surfing Can Do for You

December 29, 2009

First and foremost, what is Anonymous surfing?

Simple, Anonymous surfing allows you to surf through the internet without revealing your personal information. You do this by connecting to an intermediary, like a proxy server, which then connects you to your desired web, news, or email server. Making use of this method means you are not exposing yourself to spyware that may steal your personal information since the proxy server that you connect to acts as a buffer and insulates you from possible harm. The usual method of connecting directly to your desired sites exposes your information to each site you visit like what browser you are using, your country of origin, surfing history, IP address, and other information that compromises your identity.

Now, you may ask yourself, is there a need for me to make use of Anonymous surfing?

The Internet nowadays is a dark and scary place. If you were to traverse through the labyrinthine passages of the Internet unaided, you may later on discover that you have left a lot of footprints all over the place. These footprints are then detected by the evil denizens of the Internet that may follow you home and, without your knowing it, steal your very identity from you. Other people who have been as careless have discovered too late that they have exposed themselves to such dangers. Their email accounts, credit card information, and other private information were compromised and used without their knowledge. This causes damage ranging from the short term of their emails being read to the long term which is damage to their credit rating. Thankfully, there are tools that you can use to protect yourself like using proxy websites or downloading software like the Yousab VPN messenger on www.vpnmessenger.com.

Another use for surfing anonymously, is to bypass browser restrictions and of course, keeping your browsing history private. Most companies keep track of their employees’ browsing habits. While popular gaming and social networking websites like Facebook might already be blocked, the less popular websites that you visit that have not been blocked are summarily logged with the company. These websites sometimes are not safe for work and may get you into trouble. Or, simply visiting any site not related to work may, in itself, be cause for trouble. In this case, surfing anonymously not only protects your privacy, it also protects your job.

Proxy websites are a dime a dozen. These websites provide a free web service that assigns users with a virtual IP, effectively masking their identity. However this method provides limited coverage as the URLs visited are still visible to those whose business is to look. Downloadable software like the Yousab VPN messenger may provide a more comprehensive security solution that allows users to remain completely anonymous online. This particular program also has a nice bonus of allowing secure Instant Messaging and file transfer between Yousab users. It also has VoIP capabilities and acts as a Facebook unblock tool for offices that have browser restrictions. Rest assured, with software programs such as these, you can do Anonymous surfing for your protection and peace of mind.

Surf anonymously voip/vpn in Tehran

August 14, 2009
In this article, I thought that I would explain about a subject which I have come to find important to my time while living in the Middle East.
Even though our viewership is not as suppressed living here in Dubai as the poor souls living in Tehran, I thought I would suggest a solution to my problem that I have had which the residents in Tehran can use.

As we all know during our time working and living away from home, communication to loved ones is our life line especially when the cost of phone calls using local service providers are very expensive for international phone calls.

After spending much time on the internet recently, I have spent time researching alternative ways to communicate using VOIP providers that are normally blocked in certain Middle Eastern and Asian countries.

Having a fast internet connection, but with Skype and other VOIP websites blocked by my Internet Service Providers strict filters, I was struggling to find a way of bypassing these restrictions to use these services.

After spending several hours researching the subject further (something of which often gets discussed in varies Middle Eastern expat websites) and trying to find the best way to use these VOIP services, this is the best way to facilitate VOIP phone call.

At first I tried many proxy websites that have great claims to unblock all your internet traffic but to date I have never found a proxy service that will unblock all websites, but more importantly facilitate a VOIP call from the Middle East to Europe. The only method that I have managed to find that works well is via a VPN connection.

What is a Secure VPN connection?

VPN or what are commonly known as VPN (Virtual Private Network) tunnels, are frequently used by corporations and government bodies, to allow remote workers to make secure internet connections to the office network. VPN is currently the most advanced form of anonymity and data security for use on the Internet.

What website do I use?

After downloading a couple of paid VPN suppliers the best one I found are called YouSAB Community VPN Messenger|VPN service|Anonymous Surfing .
The reason why I believe that this is the best one for my needs, is because of the features (that I copied from the website) that it has below, which ticks all the requirements that I am looking for:

1. Prepaid card facility- I like this feature because as mentioned above, the previous VPN suppliers that I used were only on yearly subscription that after paying 50$ it was hard work getting configuration setting or problems that I had with the service from technical support. Vpnmessenger.com allows you purchase credit as low as 3 USD, minimizing the risk versus a yearly or monthly payment subscription.

2. No more using unsecure proxy websites. When your using free proxy lists published on the internet be very careful when using these (in fact I strong advise you stay well clear) as these sites could use your details for their own purposes and at your great expense. Remember nothing in this life is for free!
I also found that even when you use proxy sites certain ISP filtering system can still identify your using VOIP protocol and even though you can access websites like Skype the ISPs filtering system blocks you from using the messenger to make a phone call.

3. Secure VPN Messenger VOIP service. This is the first service of its kind to provide a VPN platform, which allows you to instant message and speak to your contacts (PC-PC) using the messenger. The voice quality is very good but sometimes it has a slight echo which I can personnel live with, but overall for the cost it far exceeds my needs.

4. Unblocks all your favourite websites. People who are interested in having a software that unblocks all your favourite websites this feature will really appeal to you, because all websites will be opened to you, even the UK TV websites that are blocked because your IP address is coming from the Middle East.
What YouSAB Community VPN Messenger|VPN service|Anonymous Surfing does is provide you with a different IP address disguising your true country where youre connecting from.
5. Software interface similar to MSN or Yahoo The vpn messenger interface is simple and easy and lacks all the whistles and bells that Yahoo and MSN does (emotion icons etc), but for what I am using it for I am not bothered. What is very good and allot better than Yahoo, is the fact that you can transfer credit to and from your contacts which is very useful.

6. Total security solution I travel allot on business and I have become really paranoid about connecting from WIFI hotspots (and for good reason) and I always use this VPN messenger to connect to the internet and the speed of the connection is good.

I hope that you will find this article of some interest to you if you are in the same position as me in the Middle East. In fact there are allot of members from the Middle East and China that will find this article very helpful, due to the very strict government viewership.

August 14, 2009

1st to the 31st of July

We are starting to see the affects of some of the marketing that we have done in different forums and press releases that we have submitted during in last months marketing plan.

Our present aim is to entice customers from the Middle East who will see the immediate advantage of using our service, especially now we are offering secure VOIP as part of the messenger client.

We are starting to get a slow but consistence stream of people who are using the service from the Middle East (but I will not disclose from where as it’s a totally an anonymous service) so this is starting to give us some encouragement.

We have also released a new update that allows people to add their personnel contacts so they can invite friends who might be interested in using the service.

Any friend and business contact can have total piece of mind that their communications via messenger or VOIP using Yousab community is totally secured. This only applies when both parties have the Yousab community software and they are chatting through the platform.

I have been using the Seoelite program to check on our ranking for Yahoo and Google and it appears that we are now a page rank 2 with a few good links in Yahoo, but we are totally getting missed by google?

After speaking to some guys on the Seoelite website they suggested that the links that are on our landing page to software directories to harming our ability to rank with Google, because Google are after relevant content, which these software directories are not?

Any advice on this subject would be most welcome?

This end of the month update sees 100 unique vistors per day, which is pleasing because our conversion rate or ratio of people who download and then people who register and use has gone up to around about 4 in every 10. I recon that we are certainly making this download, register and then configure process far easier and user friendly, which is our main aim.

The problem that we are still facing is that we still need volunteers to offer feedback of the service to try and improve on it. There are so many combinations of configuration setting for different versions of windows that we simply don’t have the man power to develop revisions to our software to help everyone.

This coming month we are hoping to arrange a forum so people can leave some feedback and help each other.

surf anonymously journal

August 14, 2009

3 1st of June to 30th of June.

The month started off really well, due to the fact that a couple of users of the Yousab community have taken the time to test the service and volunteer constructive comments that has helped us further improve the service.

These are the software updates:

From a marketing point of view since we have been reluctant to promote to heavily because we are still ironing out the bugs in this last month or so, we don’t want to leave any potential customers disappointed from using Yousab messenger.

We published a press release to two Middle Eastern websites called Zawya.com and Arabianbusiness.com which have kindly released our press release.

We have also purchased the SEO marketing tools Seo Elite and Keyword Elite which appears to be very good, but is taking some getting used to.

I have also taken a trial version of Wordtracker.com which helps you find keywords that are good for your website to optimize for. At the moment we only have a landing page, as we are still working on a website

We have also completed a user manual of our software that can be downloaded from http://www.vpnmessenger.com/YouSAB_Messenger_User_Manual.pdf

Our registered users have now jumped up to 44 for the end of June. This is from 650 amount of downloads. We are a little encouraged really because we probably had around 10 days that stopped certain Windows users downloading and correctly configuring the Yousab messenger software correctly.

This has since been sorted and now internet users using windows firewall will have no problem downloading and accessing the software.

In previous post I mentioned that the Yousab community software which can be downloaded from the url www.vpnmessenger.com

We launched this software on the 18th of May and to today we have had 1000 downloads and 97 registered users. In the time we have gone from PR 0 to PR2 and we are presently sitting at Alexa ranking 3.8million.

We completed the software Yousab community around March of this year, but had several bugs that needed ironing out from the system. One have had several problems one example been the payment gateway and how our system was linked in with the Intercard account, which is used to collect payment and debit users accounts in micropayments based on time used. This we I believe was an important selling point for our service rather than the consumer paying a per month flat charge. This lead to delays of our launch, but having sorting out known problems we finally released our first press release which was on the 18th of May via the website agency called PR web. This is the link here.

After the press release went live (along with doing other Seo) we noticed that our impressions raised to x and from the period of the 18th May to the 30th May we gained 26 users unique users, which was a little disappointing but a step in the right direction.

Other marketing that we done was the following:

Listed our landing page in the following directories

www.botw.org 99USD

2 www.Joeant.com 39.99usd

3 www.whatuseek.com 49.99usd

 4 www.dir.yahoo.com 299usd

I also submitted

Ezinearticles.com

Article dashboarddirectory

Amazines.com

PR web press release

As you can all tell we didn’t have a massive marketing budget to launch, as we preferred to use our resources that were available to us to see how we got on.

One big mild stone that we have reached this month was the completion of our payment gateway and the accounts set up, which provides our users with comprehensive information about all the transactions that they have done with the Yousab Community, using Intercard prepaid card system.

VPN secure messenger

July 6, 2009

Welcome to my blog.

This blog is about all things internet security related, weather that’s VPN, proxy lists, secure messenger services or finding the most secured VOIP at the best price. I am not a techy person, so I will try my best to be descriptive of the products or services that I think will make a difference to the lives of people who read my blog.

In recent weeks after hearing and reading the news coverage of the conflict in Tehran (Iran) and how the people are getting suppressed by the government and then punished terribly for speaking out for their human rights, it got me thinking about the whole thing of the BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING you and how governments and institutions try to control the way we live and think. Weather this is by what we buy or what we read it’s all the same CONTROL OF THE MASSES. I was sad to hear that in many countries there is a allot of censorship of the internet by the local service providers of Dubai, China, India (and as mentioned above) and Tehran to name a few to restrict viewership of content and sometimes VOIP After recently watching the movies Zeitgeist part 2, which to anyone who has not seen this before is a must view, it basically highlights how governments generate mass fear to initiate and justify the War on Terror and provide a pretext for the curtailment of civil liberties, and produce economic gain. The film claims include that the U.S. government had advance knowledge about the attacks, the response of the military deliberately let the planes reach their targets, and the World Trade Center buildings 1, 2, and 7 underwent a controlled demolition. It got me thinking and I suppose paranoid about my internet security and who is keeping track and trying to control me when using the internet, but more importantly who is monitoring everything that I do while on line. By chance I have just come across a great new service which I believe is going to be the next big thing to help the masses stay secure and communicate securely to the business, friends and family contacts. Last month I downloaded this software after a friend of mind recommended me to the service via an email invitation and have since enjoyed the service to the degree that I want to pass on some tips of how to get the best out of the service. I have copied some of the websites info so you get an idea of what they are offering. I have deleted some of the marketing fluff so you don’t get bored of reading.

http://www.vpmessenger.com is:

http://www.vpnmessenger.com is a Secure VPN Messenger & VOIP Social, Administrated, Business Community that enables users to access & interact with their social and business peers, through a totally secure downloadable VPN software. Originating from a vision of freedom & Security, vpnmessenger was born out of a desire to fundamentally change the way people communicate. Yousab Ltd and Gulhmes Ltd founders, veterans of the Internet payment security and high tech security industries respectively, joined together to create an easy to use, consumer-centric, truly converged peer-to-peer service, enabling its users to take control of their on line security from one single place on their computer. vpnmessenger sits at the heart of secure on line communication, restoring user’s civil liberties while allowing freedom to communicate PEER-PEER through multiple VPN secured connections, with 100 percent piece of mind that user’s on line security will not be compromised. vpnmessenger is totally free to download and free to trial – the only cost incurred by the user is on a PAY AS YOU USE BASIS which is powered by Yousab Ltd flagship product Inter-card.

Tomorrow I will go through some of the features that I use and explain how they work.
